Lasers Overview

  • For facial rejuvenation and the treatment of fine lines, moderate wrinkles, mild laxity, sun damage, mottled pigmentation, loss of pigmentation, scars, stretch marks and enlarged pores

Acne Laser Treatment/PDT

  • Shrinks the glands in skin to treat acne and reduce oil production
  • May stimulate collagen production to diminish the appearance of scars
  • Multiple treatments required

Hair Removal Lasers

  • Treatments are spaced approximately four to 12 weeks apart
  • An anesthetic cream may be applied one hour prior to treatment to reduce discomfort
  • Multiple treatments required for desired results


The fractional lasers used at The IDS Clinic have ‘variable pulse widths’, enabling the physician to customize treatments ranging from a very mild ‘microlaser’ peel, to deeper and more aggressive procedures for skin-tightening and scar treatment.

Indications for fractional laser therapy:
  • ‘Micro-laser peel’ – designed to refresh dull complexions and correct skin discoloration and textural irregularities. The result is soft, smooth, even-toned skin with more refined pores and reduced fine lines.
  • Acne scars and prominent pores.
  • Overall facial rejuvenation

Pigmented Lesion Removal

  • Laser selectively targets the pigmented lesion, leaving normal surrounding skin unharmed
  • Multiple treatments may be required

Resurfacing Lasers

  • Lasers remove upper portions of skin layer by layer in a precise and controlled manner, effectively rejuvenating and tightening skin
  • Recovery period can range from 3 to 10 days 
  • After the recovery period, patients may experience redness for a few weeks or more, but this can be covered effectively with makeup

Scar Treatments

  • Multiple treatments usually required
  • Combination therapy with more than one laser may be necessary

Tattoo Removal

  • Decorative Tattoos
  • Cosmetic Tattoos
  • Traumatic Tattoos, and
  • Multiple treatments required

Vascular Lesion Removal

  • Minimal to no recovery period required, unless treating hemangiomas or congenital vascular malformations
  • Multiple treatments may be required for desired results
